Miche Deva RD 62 TLR Wheels Daylight Silver Team Ed N3W

The Deva RD is Miche's new flagship road racing wheelset, engineered to deliver maximum aerodynamic efficiency, stiffness-to-weight performance, and real-world racing reliability.

The wheelset was created through a rigorous engineering process combining CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing, and on-road validation with the Groupama-FDJ Cycling Team. The project focused on two core areas: aerodynamic optimisation and material behaviour. Carbon spokes were introduced in a Miche pro-level wheel, requiring extensive work on fibre selection, spoke hub integration, and load response. Parallel development of multiple rim geometries, derived from adapted NACA profiles, allowed engineers to refine tyre rim airflow, reduce drag at a wide range of yaw angles, and improve stability in crosswinds.

The final design was validated through three wind tunnel sessions and 28 CFD simulations, confirming significant reductions in Cd.A compared to the Kleos RD 50. The 52 mm front rim achieved up to a 9.3% drag reduction at 50 km/h, with consistent gains across all tested angles. Material choices such as mixed-grade carbon layups (T700/T800/T1000), titanium spoke hardware, and CeramicSpeed bearings further reduced weight and improved stiffness, bringing the wheelset down to 1305 g while increasing responsiveness and structural efficiency.

Ultra lightweight Vonoa Carbon spokes

For the first time in its history, Miche has adopted Vonoa carbon spokes - a technological step that elevates the wheel to a new level of lightness and stiffness.

Their aerodynamic geometry, with a 4x1 mm cross-section profile, works in seamless continuity with the rim due to the hidden nipples integrated directly into the rim itself. The elimination of exposed elements reduces turbulence in this area and helps optimise overall drag.
