- The DT Swiss 54-tooth racing ratchet kit changes the degree of engagement of a DT rear hub from 20 degrees with 18 teeth to just 6.5 degrees, which results in an incredibly fast engagement
- Machined out ratchets are 10 grams lighter per set compared to the standard 18 tooth ratchets
- Note that the smaller, shallower teeth required to increase the engagement points do shorten the hub's service intervals (as they would with any freehub design) we therefore recommend this kit only for racers and those seeking ultimate performance, If you'd rather 'fit and forget' then you are advised to stick with our bombproof and famously reliable 18 tooth ratchets
