If this happens you can fit a tube and repair the tyre once home - or use one of these little blighters, which have become a racing accessory on the enduro scene as they plug the hole rapidly, getting you back on the trail faster. The system uses a special sticky rubber 'worm' that is pushed in to the hole using a mounting fork and a serrated reaming tool to make sure the hole is big enough.
