Alarm

"Excellent little device works great 👍"

Stuart B. (5/5)

Seems worthwhile

"Easy to set up. Easy to fit. Loud enough to alert passers by, although they wouldn’t hear it over an angle grinder. And it should notify me if the bike is moved."

Easy install, works well. Needs an Apple Watch app

"I was going to put some kind of tracker on my bike, but the Knog Scout made it easy, and added some useful functionally like an alarm. The produce comes nicely packaged, is easy to install, and works well. The only thing it really needs is an Apple Watch app so the alarm can easily be armed/disarmed without pulling out your phone."

"Nice bit of kit. Not so obvious how to turn alarm on and off"

It seems OK, but I

"It seems OK, but I haven't tried it out IRL yet. The thing is, it needs to be kept close to an iPhone. I keep my bike in the garden shed, where it's out of range of my iPhone (or anyone else's). If somebody nicks my bike from the shed, they will hear the device emitting an alarm, but that does not alert my phone. Then if the thief takes the bleeping bike past my bedroom window, my phone will be alerted, but I must say the alarm is quite quiet, and it won't wake me up. Meanwhile, if I take my bike into a crowded place, chain it up and go shopping, I expect that if someone moves my bike, it will alarm and contact all the nearby iPhones, and they will alert my phone, and maybe then I can start tracking the bike on a map. However, due to poor weather, I have not yet had the chance to test the alarm out in this manner. One more thing: You have to remember to arm the alarm on your iPhone every time you lock your bike and leave it. Twice I have forgotten this and the bike wasn't protected by the alarm as I was at work."
