"It is convenient because you have options but you always need to position your foot and spin the pedal so you could hit the flat side of it otherwise you will be stepping on the clipless nonetheless it is great for beginners who are not yet decided if they will learn how to use cleats. Overall quality is good as expected with Shimano products."

"They are pedals, what else can I say, except they are well built as you would expect from Shimano, not too heavy. I expect them to last for years to come. Both sides of the pedals work well. I haven't smashed myself in the shins with them so can't comment on likely pain."
